According to Gartner, by 2017, CMOs will be spending more on IT than their counterpart CIOs (http://goo.gl/zgAc08). This is not surprising for two reasons:

  1. Marketing is becoming increasingly technology-based

  2. Mastering big data is now the key to achieving a competitive advantage as an enterprise

On October 15th, 2014, InfoTrust, a Cincinnati-based web analytics technology company, and Google, are partnering to bring the first ever web analytics conference to Cincinnati: Analytics That Excite 2014.

What started as a simple website counter 20+ years ago has now evolved into one of the most complex technical problems – how do we measure website visitors across all devices and include this knowledge in our big data strategy?

Web analytics is one of the key components to any big data strategy. It is critically important for marketing and technology teams to work together to identify the best ways to collect as much relevant data about their visitors as possible, without violating any privacy regulations.

Reasons to Attend Analytics That Excite

Our goal for Analytics That Excite, besides providing you with an opportunity to hear about the latest advances in the industry, is to continue promoting Cincinnati as a hub for digital marketing and technology.

Because marketing technology is always on the cutting-edge of web technology, it is one of the fastest growing segments of IT. This has created incredible demand for talented technologists who understand both web technologies and marketing.

Unfortunately, a lot of organizations may still think that web analytics is purely a marketing function, so we put together a summary of reasons why technical experts should attend. Here are a few of the top reasons:

  1. Networking: One of the main outcomes for this event is to connect the most exciting organizations with the top talent from our region. Meet people from Google, Moz, Monetate, and more!

  2. Explore the future of the digital analytics industry: Technical jobs within the digital analytics industry will continue to rise. For example, our company recently hired an Analytics Engineer to deal with various marketing technologies, including tools like Google Analytics and HubSpot.

  3. Marketing tools, like tag management systems, are becoming increasingly complex and require development skills and knowledge of software architecture, which most marketers lack.

If you are still struggling with getting management approval, please contact us or email our marketing team directly at ate@infotrustllc.com. For more reasons on why to attend Analytics That Excite, see our recent blog post, “8 Reasons Why You Should Attend Analytics That Excite 2014“.

How to Gain Approval From Your Management

The conference will help harness the potential of technology-based marketing. Whether you are in marketing, IT, or a digital business unit, this conference will help your team members answer the following questions:

  • What are the innovative technologies for measuring web analytics across your desktop and mobile web presences?

  • How do you support new marketing strategies with the right technology strategies?

  • How do you integrate web analytics data with your big data.

  • And more!

Join us on October 15th to hear from speakers in the following industries: healthcare, financial services, media, hospitality, higher education, and more.
